Aashiqui 2 is remake of 1990's romantic-drama-musical Aashiqui. That film was directed and co-produced by Mahesh Bhatt.

Aashiqui soundtrack was hugely succesful and had 11 tracks composed by Nadeem Shravan. The Aashiqui 2 OST also has 11 tracks, composed by three different composers. Mithoon has composed three tracks, Jeet Gangulli composed six songs and Ankit Tiwari got two tracks to compose.
